Tour Plan :

Day 1: Arrival in Tangier – Transfer to Chefchaouen

Your 10-day Morocco desert tour from Tangier begins with a warm welcome at your accommodation, the airport, or the port in Tangier. Known as “The Bride of the North,” Tangier sits at the fascinating meeting point of the Mediterranean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean.

To start the adventure, we visit Cape Spartel, where the two seas meet, followed by the legendary Hercules Caves, a natural attraction steeped in myth and history. Afterward, you will have free time to enjoy lunch and explore the surroundings.

Later in the afternoon, we continue our journey inland toward the stunning blue city of Chefchaouen. The scenic drive takes us through Tetouan and the picturesque Rif Mountains, with several panoramic stops for photos.

Upon arrival in Chefchaouen, check in to your traditional riad and relax for the evening.

Day 2: Exploring Chefchaouen – The Blue Pearl of Morocco

After breakfast, your day begins with a guided exploration of Chefchaouen, one of the most beautiful and photogenic towns in Morocco.

Nestled in the Rif Mountains, the city is famous for its blue-painted streets, charming alleys, and peaceful atmosphere. With your local guide, you will wander through the old Medina, where white-and-blue houses, colorful markets, and artisan shops create a unique and relaxing ambiance.

During the tour, you will discover the history of the town and admire its traditional architecture. Afterwards, you will have free time to enjoy lunch at one of the Medina’s cozy cafés.

In the afternoon, you may choose to hike to the Spanish Mosque, located on a hill overlooking the town. From here, you can enjoy spectacular panoramic views of Chefchaouen and the surrounding mountains, especially during sunset.

Return to your riad for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: Chefchaouen – Volubilis – Meknes – Fes

Following breakfast, enjoy a final walk through Chefchaouen before departing toward the ancient Roman site of Volubilis, one of Morocco’s most important archaeological treasures.

This UNESCO World Heritage Site features beautifully preserved Roman mosaics, columns, and ancient arches, providing insight into Morocco’s Roman past.

After exploring the ruins, we continue to Meknes, one of Morocco’s historic imperial cities and the former capital under Sultan Moulay Ismail.

Day 4: Guided City Tour of Fes

Today you will discover Fes, one of the most fascinating imperial cities in Morocco. After breakfast, meet your local guide for a full-day guided tour.

The tour begins with a visit to the Royal Palace Gate, followed by the historic Jewish Quarter (Mellah). Afterwards, enjoy breathtaking views over the Medina from the Borj Sud fortress.

Next, visit the Ceramic Village, where skilled artisans produce beautiful traditional Moroccan pottery.

In the afternoon, explore the Fes Medina, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the world’s oldest medieval cities still in operation.

After a full day of discovery, return to your riad for relaxation and overnight stay.

Day 5: Fes – Ifrane – Cedar Forest – Ziz Valley – Merzouga Desert

After breakfast, your journey continues south toward the Sahara Desert.

First, stop in Ifrane, often called “the Switzerland of Morocco” because of its alpine-style architecture and cool climate. Afterwards, travel through the Cedar Forest of Azrou, where you may encounter the famous Barbary macaques.

Later, continue to Midelt for lunch before crossing the scenic Tizi n’Talghamt Pass.

As the landscape gradually changes, we enter the breathtaking Ziz Valley, known for its lush palm groves and spectacular desert scenery.

In the afternoon, arrive in Merzouga, located at the edge of the Erg Chebbi dunes.

Here, you will enjoy an unforgettable camel trekking experience across the Sahara dunes. Along the way, stop on a high dune to watch a magical sunset over the desert.

Finally, arrive at your luxury desert camp, where you will enjoy a traditional dinner, Berber music around the campfire, and a night under the stars.

Day 6: Explore Merzouga Desert Region

Wake up early to witness a beautiful Sahara sunrise, followed by breakfast at the camp.

Today is dedicated to exploring the fascinating Merzouga desert region. First, travel off-road to visit an old kohl mining site, then continue to meet local nomadic families, where you will share traditional Berber tea and learn about their way of life.

Next, visit the village of Khamlia, known for its unique Gnawa music performances rooted in African heritage.

After lunch, explore the Merzouga palm grove and visit the nearby seasonal lake, which sometimes hosts flamingos and other migratory birds.

Return to your accommodation for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 7: Merzouga – Rissani – Todra Gorges – Dades Valley

After breakfast, we leave the desert and head to Rissani, an important trading town known for its traditional souk.

Next, visit Erfoud, famous for its fossil workshops.

The journey then continues through the palm-filled valleys of Touroug and Tinjdad until reaching the spectacular Todra Gorges, where massive cliffs rise dramatically above the river.

After exploring the gorge and enjoying lunch, we continue toward the Dades Valley, stopping to admire the famous Monkey Fingers rock formations and stunning viewpoints.

Dinner and overnight stay in a hotel or riad in the Dades Valley.

Day 8: Dades Valley – Ait Ben Haddou – Marrakech

After breakfast, we travel through the beautiful Valley of Roses, famous for its annual Rose Festival and locally produced rose products.

Next, we pass through the Skoura palm groves before arriving in Ouarzazate, known as the gateway to the desert and Morocco’s film capital.

Later, visit the iconic Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that has served as a filming location for movies such as Gladiator and The Mummy.

Finally, cross the breathtaking High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n’Tichka Pass before arriving in Marrakech.

Day 9: Guided Marrakech City Tour

After breakfast, explore the vibrant city of Marrakech with a professional local guide.

Visit the magnificent Bahia Palace and the historic Ben Youssef Madrasa, both showcasing exquisite Moroccan architecture.

Next, wander through the Marrakech Medina, where colorful souks and artisan workshops create an unforgettable atmosphere.

Return to your riad for overnight stay.

Day 10: Transfer to Marrakech or Casablanca Airport

After breakfast, we will transfer you to Casablanca. If time permits, you may visit the impressive Hassan II Mosque, one of the largest mosques in the world.

Finally, we will take you to the airport for your departure, marking the end of your unforgettable 10-day Morocco tour from Tangier.
